![]() On Saturday in the Philip Chosky Theater on the Carnegie Mellon Campus, Steeltown hosted the final event in the Film Factory Competition. Three finalists had their three scripts read by CMU School of Drama students and each finalist presented on why they should win the Ellan Weiss Kander award and funding to make their short film. Dennis is pleased to announce that his short script MY DATE WITH ADAM has received the Ellen Weiss Kander Award and he has been given $20,000 to produce and film his short movie. Dennis will direct the movie and plans to shoot this summer in Pittsburgh in various locations. The movie will debut at the Three Rivers Film Festival in Pittsburgh in November. Opportunities like these should be given to young prodigies. It is these opportunities that allow those who have talent to make master pieces as in past people did not bring out their talents due to financial issues.
