Dennis is excited to announce that the short play DOG PARK OR SEXUAL PERVERSITY IN MAGNUSON has two upcoming productions in November. It will be produced by the Under Lights company at Claremont McKenna college in California on November 14th and 15th as part of a one-act festival and will also be produced by Elizabethtown College in New Jersey on November 20th and 21st. 

It recently was part of a student one-act festival at Philips Academy in Massachusetts.

DOG PARK is a play written in the style of David Mamet specifically for the Mamet Schmamet Festival at The Schmee theater in Seattle.  Set in Magnuson dog park, Jake the pug teams up with the older, wiser Duke, a great dane, to help Tiger, a young retriever, mate with Bambi, the poodle.  Riffing on Mamet’s dialogue, style and his famous plays American Buffalo and Sexual Perversity in Chicago, we see how dogs relate when humans aren’t watching. The play is published in Ten 10-Minute Plays Volume III, 2010 and can be read online here.

DOG IN THE MANGER by Lope de Vega, translated by David Johnston, opened on February 13, 2015 and was met with rave reviews, most notably from the City Paper of Pittsburgh.

The review comments that the play overflows with delicious puns and spot-on hilarity and that "Director Dennis Schebetta takes this serio-comic look at the restrictions of class structure and plays it for pure farce — with plenty of physical humor"

The production was also praised for the "frothy visuals" of the set design by Cully Long and gorgeous costumes designed by faculty member Karen Gilmer.

Dennis is proud to announce that his short comedy film MY DATE WITH ADAM is an official selection of the Dam Short Film Festival in Boulder City, Nevada (just outside Las Vegas). The Dam Short Film Festival runs February 4-7 and will highlight 114 short films in 21 thematic program blocks. MY DATE WITH ADAM will screen as part of a special "Love" evening.

Dennis began rehearsals as director of the stage production of DOG IN THE MANGER by Lope De Vega, translated by David Johnston at the University of Pittsburgh Stages season. The production will premiere in the Charity Randall Theater on February 13th, 2015.

Dennis is proud to announce that his short romantic comedy My Date with Adam is an official selection for the weekly screening for New Filmmakers in New York City as part of their Winter 2015 programming.

My Date with Adam will be part of a special Valentine's Day themed screening on Wednesday, February 11 at 7:00 pm at Anthology. More details can be found on their website or by reading their Quarterly..

Dennis is proud to announce that his feature length screenplay LOVE & ROBOTS is an official selection for the 2014 Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival.  The festival runs Friday, November 8th to Thursday, November 14th.

In all the festival selected 19 Features, 17 Original Screenplays, 33 Shorts, 2 Medium Length Films, 3 Micro Shorts, and 12 Music Videos; 86 works total.

LOVE & ROBOTS is the feature length adaptation of the award-winning short film MY DATE WITH ADAM. 

LOVE & ROBOTS is about a roboticist who invents an android to be the perfect man to win over the woman he has been secretly in love with for years.  But when his mentor hijacks the project for a military experiment, he must decide which is more important—his love or his rising career.  When the woman discovers that her perfect man is an android, he may have ruined his one chance at winning the love of his life. Now he must win her back even if it costs him his future.

Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival is devoted to bringing the finest independent science fiction, fantasy, horror and action films from around the world to Buffalo, and to spotlighting the work of the most talented filmmakers in Western New York.  An awards ceremony will be held at the theater on Sunday, November 9th. 

Dennis is proud to announce that his short romantic comedy My Date with Adam is an official selection of New Filmmakers LA and will screen in Downtown LA on September 20th as part of their programming.

My Date with Adam will be screening at 4:45 pm at The AT&T Center, on September 20th, following a pre-screening reception at 4:00 pm. Dennis will be in attendance for the screening and is looking forward to seeing the movie with a west coast audience!

This months program at NewFilmmakers LA includes 5 film programs comprised of a feature documentary, 15 short films and an advance screening of the Columbia Pictures feature film THE EQUALIZER starring Denzel Washington.

Dennis has begun filming for the movie ALL-SIGHT, written and directed by Talia Levin. Dennis has been cast as the lead, Jordan Anders, a grieving father and husband who retreats into a virtual reality simulator and must learn to re-connect to the world, and to his young daughter. 

The film also features Talia Akiva (THE IDES OF MARCH with George Clooney), Jess Paul (THE IMMACULATE RECEPTION) and Renee Rabenold.
